Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Trawl ("the App"), a recipe management application developed by Philipp Hematty ("we", "us"). By using the App, you agree to these terms.

1. Account

You sign in with your Apple ID. We do not store your Apple credentials. Your account is identified by an anonymous user ID provided by Apple. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings.

2. Subscription

Trawl offers a free tier with limited usage (scans and chat messages per month). Trawl Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that provides unlimited access.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods.

3. Your Content

Recipes you create, scan, or import belong to you. We do not claim ownership of your content. Your recipes are stored on your device and synced via your personal iCloud account — we do not have access to your iCloud data.

4. AI Features

The App uses third-party AI services to process recipe scans and chat messages. Your messages and images are sent to these services for processing. We do not use your content to train AI models. AI-generated recipes may contain errors — always verify ingredients and cooking instructions.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App to generate harmful, illegal, or abusive content.
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits or subscription requirements.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App.

6. Availability

We strive to keep the App available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features that depend on third-party services (AI processing, iCloud sync) are subject to those services' availability.

7. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to errors in AI-generated recipes, data loss, or service interruptions.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via the App or our website.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Germany.
